My Daughter is in tears as she has 5 years to pay on this car. The thing is Nissan sells the MAF wiring harness as a whole, yes the MAF sensor ties into the whole engine wiring harness at a cost of $500 without the labor. Has to be, I did everything over leading to that area. DUH! I`m now looking for a MAF sensor wiring harness thinking it`s maybe a short in one of the wires. Nissan`s response, oh, you need a new MAF sensor. I shut the code off for the 100th time, it`s good for about 65 miles and then kicks on again. Driving home bout 10 minutes down the road and the check engine light came on. Replaced PCV valve, replaced air filter, cleaned throttle body and then another new MAF sensor and took it to Nissan for them to reprogram the ECU for the new MAF. Then I went to work after reading some of the forums. After the 1st week the check engine light came on, called for a code P0101 MAF sensor, replaced that with new and 2 days later the light is back on. Picked up a 2011 Altima for my Daughter 11/18. Anything that acts like insulation to the hot. The contamination can come in the form of spider webs, potting compound from the MAF sensor itself, dirt that gets attached to oil on the MAF from an over-oiled aftermarket air filter, and more.
